I've seen advertisements that the rechargeable Maglite is now 40,000 candlepower. Has anyone used or seen one of these new and improved Maglites? Does Maglite offer an upgrade kit for those of us who have humped Mags for years? Thanks, be safe, and power with light!

dano>>new bulb

Is the newer bulb the Maglite bulb # LR00001?

Or does it go under a different number?

I could only find the LR00001 on the net.

Could you order a couple of these new bulbs for me ?

Or maybe I could send you a small flashlight for your trouble ?

Just my $0.02: I own both the Magcharger, and Ultrastinger, and I believe the Magcharger is a better light when it comes to being dropped, or other abuse (like a temporary cerebral rearrangement...). It's just more solidly built, IMHO. More metal equals a tougher light.

That being said, I tend to actually use the US more than the Mag, due to it's smaller size, and considerably lighter weight. But I still consider my Magcharger a 'must have' in my flashlight collection, even if it does tend get less use since I got an US.
