Surefire L1 with a Proto TNC/Aleph 3 McR38 head.
The LE was modified by Darkzero with a Seoul U2SVOH.
SureFire L1 McR-38 SSC P4 Mod

Origin of the LE is from the "Dumb" Mule Heads for SF L1
Tint is creamy warm white.

This light throws like crazy and has the same runtime as the original Surefire L1 and all from one battery.

I'm not familiar with the L1's circuitry. What's the input voltage range?

The head itself is DD and the electonics is located in the body.
I believe the Current is about 500mA on high but im really not sure.
If i were to judge by my eyes i would say its closer to 750mA to the led as it is very bright.
Low i dont know...

The current has changed throughout the generations of the Surefire L1
and the body used on this host is the Gen4 as per Milky`s way of
determing the Generations.


I dont know how to measure this with my Multimeter...all i know is how to check voltage..lol.


Input voltage is 1xCR123 as with all Surefire L1`s
Some have used RCR123`s with sucess but i would not recommend this..AW`s protected are a VERY tight fit if a fit at all.

Yes, thanks, it helped. The L1 is one of the few Surefires I haven't experienced yet.

I was wondering if this head could be used on a different body, but I guess not.

The head can be used on any E-series body.
And if you swap the LE you can use 2 cells + depending on the LE.
It will work perfectly fine with a single CR123 or 4.2V battery.
Just keep in mind that youre overdriving the Led with a RCR123/18650

It is also compatible with any of the Current+Previous Gen Surefire L1 bodies.

If I was in the market for a thrower I think this would be the ticket. The ultra reliable two-stage twisty really is the icing on the cake. And I've got to say that's one of the coolest looking heads out there. darkzero's work is absolutely superb and MorpheusT1 is a top-notch seller all the way. :thumbsup:

Its a killer piece at a killer price.


The head alone has cost me around $200 to get this way.
And i had to gut a complete McGizmo L1 Mule head in the process if i remember correctly.

Wow - unfortunately I'm in selling mode, but this is one of only 2 lights in the last month that I have been severly tempted by...., I've got another light that Darkzero did, great stuff.
