Cylon Maglite? 8Volts

Has anyone tried using 2Volt Sealed Lead Acid Cells in a Maglite, to produce 8Volts, 'stead of 6 (4Cell).

Also if i where to try such a mod, what LED would you recommend, i dont really want to use resitors to step down the voltage I achieved.

Do you mean Cyclon cells, perhaps? They seem to have spade terminals, so I'm not sure you could fit 4 of them and a wiring harness into a 4D Mag.

hmm, yeah i noticed the terminals, but i reckon i could force. that was sort of why i was asking.

Would have to cut the spring down, then wire the terminals.
