Is there a light that has the same UI and/or switch like the M30? I really like this light but want it or need it to be a bit smaller. I like strobe and being able to access it on the tailcap is neat.

I don't think so.

AFAIK the UI for the M30 is unique with regard to the sideswitch being used to change levels and the tailswitch being
a clicky with forward momentary-on for each level.

I use the light without the extender with 2 18500 cells. (2 18500s are equivalent in length to 3 CR123s.)

In this configuration the light is about as compact as you can reasonably expect for the power it outputs.

Thanks for the response.
I was afraid of that. I wish the M20 would function the same way.

Can you use protected 18500 cells or do they need to be unprotected to fit in the M30?

Thanks in advance.
