Cute melting pic. :)

The hottest I recall experiencing was Vegas during July at 118F. Parts of the valley were reporting up to 121F that day. Ugh... I dropped off family at the door then parked the car at Paris Casino. The walk through the parking structure was not pleasant nor was my forgetting exactly what level I put the car...those detours to find it were. :(

Drove through Baker, CA and the car temp indicated 120F outside. Coalinga, Ca I've had near equal at 119F. The dry heat...har-har...

Having experienced Vegas 115F and Houston 100F (with high humidity), I'll take Vegas heat anyday. Unlike in Houston, the shade actually does make a difference. The humidity makes you feel like you can't breathe. Having said that, neither is pleasant. :sick2:

With the typical humidity of NYC summers, even 70s is uncomfortable, never mind 80s, or 90s. I HATE summer with a purple passion.

+1

The temp. gauge in my new car says 70. But when I step outside, my skin says "Get back in the car and crank the A/C !!"

I've never had a temp. gauge in a car before buying my '09 Mazda 6. It's not really as useful as I thought it would be.

Earlier this week it was 96 here with a dew point of 78. Very uncomfortable outside. And I was told it doesn't get that hot in Nebraska.

There are some pretty uncomfortable places worldwide, either super cold, humid or plain hot. Haven't experienced cold below 6F. Hopefully I won't. ;)

It's not the heat, it's the humidy :D

9:30 AM and it's already 21C/69F but it already feels like 26C/80F with the humidity - already had to turn on the A/C.

We had a hot spell earlier this week where the daytime temp hit 33C, 40C with the humidty....that was very uncomfortable. My wife had 3 asthma attacks that day :(

I don't know if it has even got above 75°F here in coastal CT. Between the rain and cold weather, we have not been able to use our pool but one day....and it has a gas heater. All the beach boating, parks, concessions are going broke because no one is going there yet...and it's almost July.

It got into the 90s where I live in San Diego county. My house has been hot all day as I only have one window air conditioner to cool the house. Oh well. I've dealt with worse. When I was in high school, I went on a church trip to the Oasis Water Park in Palm Springs during record heat. It was 123 degrees F that day and it got down to 93 F at night. After getting soaked on a water slide, I felt freezing for about 5 seconds from the water evaporating instantly. Then I was bone dry and roasting again with my feet burning from the hot ground. It was like stepping out of a walk in freezer and getting into an oven. I had a battery powered fan and a mister that day. The mister worked great during the day, but not at night when the humidity skyrocketed. The battery powered fan worked for awhile until the heat fried the alkaline batteries. No matter how hot it is, remember that it could be worse.

If you want to stay cool, take a cold bath or shower. You can also eat ice cream or anything else that's cold. Putting an ice pack or a cold soda (in the can) on the back of your neck works too. The fastest way to get cool is to cool the skin or to eat or drink something that will cool you from the inside out. Trying to simply cool the air around you takes too long if you're really hot.

It's no fun is it. We hit 111 today but the in car temp sensor always reads higher and showed 114. I rode my bike this evening before dark and it felt like riding in a hair dryer. The best part is that July and August are worse.

I'm looking forward to October. When I'll be enjoying the cool air... in Vegas... When I'm on vacation. :)

Great month to visit Monocrom! It should be just right. :)

October here can still be "iffy." Last year the heat lasted well into it.

80-90 here pretty humid too recently but I am enjoying the sweating!
The AC is in use at home because Wendy and Kinsley hate the heat at night, they just can't sleep unless it's cool.
I still refuse to use the AC in my car. Roll down the windows and drive faster!
