I guess the rental car business is in the dumpster so Chevrolet finally announced the demise of the Cavalier. In my mind, it's about a decade or two late.

It brought to mind all of the cars who's production has either stopped or will stop shortly.

Someone feel free to add to the list:

Thunderbird (the new model)
All Oldsmobiles
Ford Taurus
The real ugly Pontiac Aztec

What else?

aztecs? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon15.gif
those things are about as ugly as they come...

taurus's are good selling cars, while i would rather never own one, i think they do ford some good (that in and of itself is possibly a reason to get rid of them /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif )

i liked oldsmobiles...they are already dead though aren't they?

Not any time too soon, at least IMO. If it was up to me production would never have started. Isn't the Trans Am and Camaro going out of production soon too?

Last I read the body on frame Excursion is history. But an extended, unitized version of the Explorer will be set to replace the current gigantic SUV. I know longer am a car salesman for Bill Currie so I'm no longer privy to inside info. But the car mags always seemed to have industry info before company publications.
