I got a plaque for having straight 4.0 GPA's throughout 7th and 8th grade, an award for being in the top 5% in the nation for the AMC (American Math Competition), and my math teacher told me that I had the highest score in the school for the state math test! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Congratulations! I am graduating junior high too. I assume you made the Nation Junior Honor Society with your 4.0s. I can't wait for high school next year. Keep up the good work!

Ah, high school, I do remember it /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Just remember that, all tv and movies aside, high school is not the high point of your life. Things only get better from there! (well, for the most part. There is this part of later life where you don't get summers off which is pretty crappy...)

Congrats! I have tried the AMC, but forgot what I got...

Back to pi, I can recite 50 decimals of pi from memory... ^.^

James, you're putting a damper on the occasion. Yes, at the time you are in high school it is the greatest experience and highlight of your life. I miss a lot of aspects of high school.

I have memorized this much of pi: 3.141592653589793238462643383279502884197169399375105820974944, and I also have the first 10,000 digits of pi printed out on a piece of paper. In 5th grade I tried to memorize the first 100 digits of pi, and I almost did.

Is 5th grade boring for everyone? That's when I memorized it too, but stopped at 50. I think I'm going to start up the memory challenge again this summer and get to 100.

Pi is blue -

Congratulations!

Though I don't actually know you I can't help but be kinda proud of you. For that matter, kudos to all you younger CPFers that choose to perform well.

I've heard many explanations on why the Sky is blue. I sure would like to know why Pi is blue.

Enjoy your summer.

I just thought of Pi being blue one day when I was sitting in math class with nothing to do (I had finished the assignment about halfway through the period).
