Ok so far I've got a Duracell Daylite AA (decent light not great but decent), a Romisen RC-G2 II Q5 (love it) and a Fenix E01. Now I'm looking for something a little more versatile. I'd like something with 2 modes, a low powered for when i have to get around the house at night or power outages ( the G2 is almost too bright, reflecting off walls) and a high power mode when I need it.

Lithium batteries have long shelf life (10+ years, great for stored emergency lights) and are not as affected by cold but must be kept dry and are more expensive. Rechargeable start expensive, but if used frequently pay off quickly.
