They're sort of opaque, but when placed on top of the LD01 when it's on, the cap becomes translucent and diffuses the light nicely.

This cap is white and fits it perfectly:
I leave my chapstick cap on 24/7 on my LD01SS in my pocket only taking it off when I need to throw light as I find the diffused light easier to use in the dark for a quick short see to put the key in the door light and it protects my car door from the light banging into it when I have keys in hand opening it *BING* the plastic cap bangs into the door from the dangling light. You can get all sorts of colors of chapstick type caps how about a purple diffuser lol
