First mod and does out shine my L2D.

Solarforce cree r2, 3D maglite.

Nice mod, I would worry about the thermal management. I can't tell for sure from the photos, but if there isn't any other heatsinking, I wouldn't leave the light on for more than 5 minutes.

The heat isn't too bad up to 10 minutes, will see how it goes.

I would think about getting a good heatsink, it's so much wasted space in this light...

Better heatsinking will allow the emitter to run brighter for longer
Also, the reflector looks tiny in the Mag head.

After 10mins a LED was at 68c.

Will look into a new heatsink and reflector.
