What lights do you keep in your car? don't include what is carried on your person. Now a light that is kept in the car but you will carry on your person if needed is fair.

How my car is equipped. In each of the handholds is a conveniance light. An Arc-ls with 123 Kroll switch. It barely fits but does and is snug so it does not rattle around. On the visor is a 2-AA powered Arc-LS and a Surefire E2. Also in the cab is a zippka led head lamp in the consol as well as a SpaceNeedle2 and a SureFire 12ZM in a holder behind the seat.

In the Trunk, I keep a kit that has a custom 1D, 1C, and a factory 1AA Arc adapters with older ARC-LS head so I can use almost any battery I can run across. I want to add a 6D cell Maglite modded for 5watt for long battery life usage but still have a bright light for the trunk. I have placed a steelcase GE 4D cell lantern in the trunk in case I have to be by the road changing a tire or something and can be easily seen. I want to add a bigger headlamp to the trunk.

I also keep a 9Z in the car not for car related use but to switch out with my EDC taclight. If I feel the need for a bigger tactical light then I have on my belt before I get out of the car, I grab it.

What am I missing in my car light arsenal?
What do you have in your car and why would I want it in mine?

Sometime I am going to pull all my car lights out. Line them up as see what I have and see what I need. I want to limit myself to 10 car based lights and cover all the bases.

The LW 4000 is on the floor between the drivers door and drivers seat. The other two are in the storage compartment between the front seats.

geezus...that's a lot of lights in your car. All I've got is a Brinkman LX and a couple of spare 123's in my truck and a e2e and c3(p91) in my car.

I had an old 2D Mag in my tool bag in the trunk along with a Turtlelite and a MiniMag plus a silver/blue Stylus and a silver/white Inova X5 clipped to my seatbelt cover. Currently--nothing. I cleaned out my car because I had to take it into the shop and I haven't put anything back yet. Plus I'm re-thinking everything. Just got a 2D Twin Task that's going to replace the Mag, and my Space Needle's probably going in there too. Still trying to figure out what else.

In all three of our cars, I keep a Minimag, 2-123 cell light, and a 3D MagLite.

The Minimags currently have lithium AA batteries and the brighter Brinkmann bulbs, but the incan bulbs are going to soon be replaced with Badboy or MadMax mods and the Kroll switch.

The other light I keep in the glovebox is a 2-123 cell lithium light, either a Brinkmann Legend LX or a Surefire G2. I might be replacing these with UKE 2L's in the future for their more compact size, and lack of any kind of switch that can be accidentally be turned on.

The 3D MagLites are basically throwbacks to my pre-flashaholic days. They tend to get used as hammers as much as flashlights. They are great for pounding tent stakes into the ground if you've forgotten your hammer. I might consider replacing their bulbs with Everled replacement LED's, not sure yet though.

Wow, I didn't even realize I had that many lights in the 'ol Rolls-Kinardley (Rolls down one hill, kinardley make it up the next)

Car Flashlight Inventory

Before your groan about overkill, consider the following.
--I have to store my lights somewhere
--Rechargeable lights need to be cycled in and out of the car for recharging roughly monthly
-- my daughter is embarrassed to have her friends see so many of her uncooll dad's flashlights in the car that she borrows the cars less frequently.

Wow! I thought I was overdoing it. JonSidneyB seems to have covered all the bases. The only things you could add are a Brunton solar charger or DC battery charger and some Nmh batteries - and a couple "Swiss lights" or Freelights as the ultimate backup.

Flashlights in my glovebox: a Surefire G2 for bright light; a LW2000 for low intensity, long duration; a Zipka for working hands free; AA and AAA Mini-Maglites; an ARC AAA; a PAL light; a set of battery size adapters; a cheap C-cell Eveready for loaning to strangers; my Freelight charging on my rear view mirror. And a couple other small lights somewhere in my car.

In my 2003 Impala LS Sport, I keep the following:

E2E with MN02, MN03, modded bezel and P61.
A2 white.
Glowring.
McLux.

In the trunk are the following:

3-D Maglight.
Space Needle II.
2-boxes SureFire 123-cells.
Optromics 3-million CP spot light.

I think that's everything.

Would you care to put a bottom-line dollar figure on your car lights? It would help give my wife some degree of perpective on my personal level of involvement. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Thanks.

As un-flashaholic as it may be, there is a 2D Mag in every one of our vehicles. Once I find out which smallish but bright light I like the best for the money, I'll get one of each of those as well.

So far, the front runner is the Legend LX... That is one bright little light for the $$$ !
