Assume D cell provides 10000mah, each Micropuck uses 450ma, I should have over 5 hours run time. Am I right?
2xD Cell, 3 x Micropuck, 3 x 1W runtime?

Your figures would really show over 20 hours. Would never last that long at full brightness.

Tomas, I've no idea yet. Either copper or aluminium heat sink I guess. A 1W Luxeon got up to 70 degree (C) in 5 minutes. The housing will be 2D Maglite.

I think so. I've tried 2 Q2J in parallel, it's OK. But not as bright.

That's what I guess. A bit less than 7.5 hours assuming once drop below 0.8V the micropuck will cut off.
