How small can a L2 be ?

Yes runs on a 16340 / CR123A , just need to see if Solarforce is interested in the Mod or not ..

Currently Q5 / 5mode , may become SSC P4 shortly .

that looked really easy to change modes, did you build your own driver or is that one available somewhere, or is it a trade secret?

I've seen this before. Please explain it, and is it reversible.

I assume you shortened the springs quite a bit? If only the tail cap spring needs modifying, I may get an extra tail cap just for this.

Tail cap is stock so far , I may shorten the spring in the future .
No spring on the driver , compressed it eats up 2mm of internal space .
Yes / till I hear from Solarforce , sort of a trade secret .

Name ? L2UM or Ultra Mini ? Mini + ? :thinking:

Its a KD driver 5 mode .. This one

Yes , reversible .. But why would you want to .. Fits in jeans coin pocket .

I was able to do this with one of the fake Solarforce L2s from Solarforce store. The top of the light had extra threads and the battery tube would come off. You could then screw the tail cap on directly to the small top body that held the LED module.
However I was not able to fit a battery in there but I really did not try.

I was thinking sometimes I may want a big light with more runtime and other times I may want something smallish with more output than my normal EDC. So a little back and forth between those two formats.

Just tried it. I had to unscrew the head out form the neck portion of the body a couple of turns to make room for a cr123, then screwed the tail cap on. Nifty.

I used the rubbery underside of a mouse pad for better purchase.

perhaps mine does not come apart? or is it only when my post-count gets so high it unlocks/i am bestowed with superhuman flashlight modding powers?

I had done this sorta tinkering before but could only get a 14250 to fit inside.

My black one came apart easily.

My gunmetal one did not want to come apart. I sliced the palm of my hand open on the threads trying to get it apart.

I currently have 8 , yep , 8 L2's ..
So Im not overly worried about reversing the mod .

Got one more body , as I expect prices will increase once more people realize what a bargain Solarforce is ..

So this one will stay as is , got the SSC P4 LED today , so might make it P4 shortly ..

Very nice pics. I love the sheen on that little black L2micro - it looks almost purple.

L2 Micro was the first thing that came to mind for me, but I see DM51 has already beat me to it.
