Scott is a class act. The response would have come without the garbage bag reference.

That's all I ever wanted. You may not like the way I did it, so if I hurt your feelings I'm sorry. Sometimes life isn't a picnic in the park. Sometimes, in order to get some fruit, you need to "shake the trees". Be well.
With my thick skin and blatant honesty, I've seen far worse than a silly reference to a garbage bag. There are different ways to handle things. And if you honestly believe that Scott posted due to your sarcastic and insulting comments regarding "garbage bags" and "dumpsters," clearly; you don't know why Scott became such a respected member of the CPF community. (Even with this latest, unfortunate, series of delays.)

Sure, sometimes you have to shake the tree to get the fruit. Nothing wrong with that. But there's a clear difference between shaking a tree vs. throwing gasoline on it, setting it on fire, urinating on what's left in order to put the fire out, and then picking through what's left of the fruit. You did more than simply "shake the tree."

    Agreed.

You don't joke about dox'ing someone. That's definitely not a warranted response for this situation.

Ok Monocrom, if it will make you feel better, I'll go back and revise my earlier statement. And I wasn't being serious about the garbage bag. It was a metaphor for the way this makes me feel. This situation has been so exhausting for everyone, including Scott. No one in this thread has anything other then the best wishes for Scott. The last thing I want to do is degrade or sully the brilliant work that Scott does. I wouldn't be here if I wasn't in awe of what Scott does. Don't misconstrue my earlier remarks as being disrespectful.

What is the warranted response when it's been two years since I sent Scott $500 and 2 of my most treasured hosts ?

    WTF ???
I agree 1000% with Monocrom, total overkill.

I can totally understand being upset, but it's 1 week to Xmas.

    He's a decent, honest man.
I have no doubt that he will get things situated.

This can all be dealt with in the New Year. A few more weeks isn't going to kill anyone.

Scott, my heart nearly came out of my chest when I saw you respond here. I really miss our planning sessions during my various modding projects. I especially miss our long conversations about lights, friends, ideals and integrity, being parents, politics, religion, and life in general/specific. Many of us were encouraged just to see your response here. I would feel horrible if my silly little flashlight hobby contributed in some way to the downfall of your family. You've mentioned about some of it, but I can't imagine what you've really been going through these last few years. I pray often for you and your family, hoping that you find direction and motivation to move with inspiration towards resolving these problems and challenges.

I will be pming and emailing you my current mailing address to update your information, even though you probably already have it.

Merry Christmas to you and your whole family, Scott.

Paypal can come later. It hasn't been my highest priority to figure out how much each project has tied up in unpaid parts, nor how much shipping might cost for specific people. A few projects might ship back completed depending on how close they are and time/energy to do so. (Probably best to set expectations that they will not, so any surprise will be on the upside.) For reference, though, my paypal is: paypal/at/quarryrun/dot/com.

Hi, I bought a Milky and need help understanding the following label:

    X325.4 SSCP4 USWOH IMS 7CUT ACORN1.3 TACTICAL V6.06.28.01

It is the "X325.4" I need to know. The light is a single 18650, I would also like to know if this is limited to a single cell.

    Thank you

I believe that means 4x LED, each driven at 325 mA ... for a total drive current of 1.3 amps

I bought a Milky modded KL2 head this week and it comes in Monday's mail. Four Cree XP-G emitters behind optics. I'm extremely excited as this'll be my first Milkyspit thing.

    tape (from the sellers thread) says: X1004.4 4x CreeXP-GR51C Tina-XP-D Acorn 1.3 fw:'C-Steamboat'

the lower line says custom aluminum heatsink and that it can run 2x RCR or 3x primaries, but can y'all tell me what exactly all that in the quoted tape means? I know the "XP-GR51C" means it's got four Cree XP-G LEDs of the R5 efficiency bin at 1C tint, but what's the rest of the stuff mean?

What is this head capable of that can be tapped into? Are Milky's heads easily upgraded to newer LEDs?

    I bought it as a 2-level, high/low head here.

Here's my guess: "X" means it's in Milky's real bright X-series ("M" is his line of super well-regulated). I think "1004" is the output on High. Dunno about the ".4" Four levels? I'm guessing Tina-xp-d is the optic he used? Acorn is the firmware, what he used in the Milky Candle, the Gotham, etc. "1.3 C-steamboat" would be the version of the firmware with certain user-interface, various drive levels, etc.

So you see it's as simple as that.

PS: Also, there could more than one user interface in there, including at least one with four levels. Try giving it 20 taps to see if you can move from on UI to another.

Buried in one post, of one thread, of that search ... appears to suggest that the ".4" is for "multi-brightness" (and "X" for "eXtreme output" , and 325 for maximum lumens, as you already correctly noted) . Looks like gottawearshades guess was right
