My SF orange traffic cone/wand seems to split apart where it slips on the light. Even if it is not attached they go bad fairly quick.

yes, same thing happened to mine. I was using it on G2. Seems to fit better on my C2 with metal head/bezel. I took a razor knife and cut about half the joining section off and got rid of the split, seems to fit better now. I wont use it on a nitrolon head again.

The Nitrolon bezels are obviously slightly wider diameter compared to the aluminium bezels which makes BeamFilters a far more tight fit too.

The traffic cone is under SF's lifetime warranty, so if it splits, I would contact customer service.
I'll agree with everyone else that it is a tight fit on nitrolon lights. It does get a bit more flexible once it gets warm though.
