Howdy! Been away for a really long time here, been trolling trying to catch back up. Got the 'ole light itch again and want to build one.

Goals
Good looks
Good working high
Great low low as it'd mainly get used around the house at night
Strobe would be nice but sacrifice-able
Good battery life
CR123 primaries
Don't want to spend more than $100 (though if another $20 gets me further...)
An EDC'able host w/ bezel down clip & forward clicky would be huge too.
If no host like that exists but there's a host that takes a clicky swap that is good, I'll take it.

I checked through the P60 thread and saw a few adjustables (bonus) and a few multi-modes. Is there one that tops the heap? A good strobe mode would be nice as well, but just a bonus. I'd take a good high/low low no strobe over a mediocre high/low low and good strobe.

Any recommendations would be great! If you have a good host/switch/P60 combo that you could recommend, fantastic. I'm all ears here. I know as many things are this is subjective to each user, so anything you've found would be awesome!

Oh, and if this has already been discussed, just tell me PUTSB, give me the key word, and I'll do the rest!

Thanks guys and gals!

Great looking light! Definite consideration.

Still would like to slap something together myself to make it a bit more personal, but that certainly isn't bad either.

Just an idea of a pre-made light that has what you're looking for, check out the Quark CR123^2 Tactical. It matches everthing you are looking for.

Well, ...shoot, That looks like a mighty fine light! I've been playing catch-up in flashlight land and have gotten dialed in for the rotating EDC with a D10-R2 and a couple LiteFlux lights and was thinking about building a couple Solarforce 2xcr123 lights for Mamma and I for our bugout/EOTWAWKI/Zombie bags that we keep in our cars but it looks like these would be WAAAAYYYY better! I love messing with the DX dropins as much as the next guy but I was feeling funny about using one for a potential life-or-death situation light.

I'll wait 'til I see a click-through ad on the CPF site so they get the credit for the sale.

It could be worse, I could be spending it at the casino, right?

For the BEST High-low P60 dropin style combo with a forward clicky:
Malkoff MD2 with Malkoff M60 with 2 stage ring

The low mode might be too high for you though.
