The legendary Les Paul has passed at the age of 94. He invented the electric guitar, multitrack recording and guitar reverb among other things. The music world owes an enormous debt of gratitude to this fine gentleman.

RIP sir. Your impact on modern music is incalculable.

I'm bringing my '81 Les Paul Custom, my lifetime companion since the age of 15, out of semi-retirement because of this.

For the past handful of years, acting as if people live forever, I've been saying "yeah, I gotta' get down to the Iridium on a Monday, and have him sign it". Well, I blew that chance, but have been reminded of an important lesson that I've lost touch with far too often; To enjoy life, is to achieve the things that you value most.

Thank you, Les, for reminding me of this, and for the incalculable benefits I've received from your achievements.

I only recently started listening to some of his music. Absolutely incredible! A true innovator and musical genius. R.I.P., Les. You won't be forgotten.
