Let's see if this works:

Putting a LS in a curtain rail? Wait it is an art deco light I get it.

I guess the two factors on whether to convert it woud be

1. does it work now and is it in pristine condition? If it is showroom new and fully functional with no rust or pitting I might leave it. If I could mod it in a reversible way that is another possiblity (epieon bulb?).

2. "I own it and I want to mod it".

I'm a fence sitter on keeping old things in original condition. It boils down to condition and intent. My old banger Mercedes 300D (pre turbo) has a sacreligous CD stereo instead of the original stereo. If it were in showroom shape and had possible large value I probably would have left it alone.

I say go for it. Unless it may be worth $$$$$ /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I wouldn't touch it if that were my light. Now, if I had two of the same light however, that might be another matter.

I would suppose it's not the last of its kind. I'm surprised at the large number of old flashlights available on eBay. Some in very nice condition, and a few are NIB, despite their age.

Go ahead and do it.

TEST

LINK:
LINK

END TEST

The image itself will not post correctly, possibly because of
the asterisk in the middle of it (an asterisk is usually a
"wild card" character, but this is, of course MSN and they do
as they damned well please).

An even more likely reason for the UBB software to reject the
URL as an image is that it does not end in any of the usual
image extensions (.jpg, .gif, etc.) and it therefore assumes
the URL is either incorrect or not for an image. Since I don't
know how UBB looks at that sort of thing when reformatting
into HTML, I can't be at all certain, and will just leave it
at that. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

If you post the link correctly, however, you won't blow the
entire thread with a super-long URL requiring nearly EVERY
post to be horizontally scrolled ...

P.S. One can go back to one of their own posts and edit
out the bad stuff ...

P.P.S. Yes, modding an antique like that would be a sin -
likely a mortal one ... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jpshakehead.gif

I am a flashaholic so this is not easy to say but I am also a collector so I must. YES it would be a sin to mod such a beautiful and old light. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mecry.gif
