Photon Freedom LED Identification

Hi all,

I just received a Photon freedom and Fenix e01 in the mail. Very exciting! I'd like to try and identify which LED is in the Freedom. How can I tell if I have the newer, brighter Nichia GS LED in the Freedom? Compared side by side, the Freedom with fresh batteries is about the same brightness, maybe a hair brighter than the E01. if i put the freedom on it's lowest brightness, I see a rectangular light block under yellow phosphor inside.

There is only 1 lumen difference between the GS and DS.

If you see a rectangular shaped die then it is definitely a GS.

As the Freedom was one of the initial lights to start using the GS, I have to think it's a very high probability it has the GS. Having said that my Freedom on new batteries is way brighter then E01. My E01 is maybe as bright as a CS.

Thanks for the expertise! I'm plenty happy with the E01 and Freedom as is, but I wanted to make sure I gave the Amazon seller a proper review.
