My grandfather's shotgun was left to me and has not yet been sent. Older sister is handling the estate. She needed a value on it to help account for every thing.

It is a Belgium built Browmig 2 3/4 12 gauge. I think it was bought between 1920/1930. It's it is detail egraved of a dog and two pheasants done in gold enlay. I is hard to but a dollor value on it cause I don't have it in my positon yet. My poor researches turned ranges of $2000.00 to $5000.

Anyone have any idea on how I rate it?

Thanks.

Have it taken to a REPUTABLE gun dealer. The price can vary greatly due to condition, but the prices you have between 2000 to 5000 is pretty adequate although 5000 is pretty high. I have 2 Belgiums a 20 & a 12 & the 20 was mint condition & I paid 2750 for it about 3 years ago.
Hope this helps.

Yea, that sounds more realistic, around $3,000.00.

I was hoping I could find an online source for blue booking as I need an estimate long before I'll have it in my position.

Thanks, imfrogman. BTW both brothers were Navy divers, one still lives in Cary.
