Suppose you think there might be a break through coming up in the not to far future. Perhaps a pill...injection...something that stops the aging process. But does not reverse it...your stuck looking how you look at that time. So you want to do everything you can to slow the aging in the meanwhile...cause you want to live a long time...but you want to look great, feel great doing it.

We all know the old stuff...eat right, exersise (learn to spell right) and drink plenty of beer. But beyond that...what? Whats your secret hope...one a day vitamin, soak in vinigar bath once a week?

Mine is currently being young and having a family genetic disposition for looking considerably younger than my age. Does that count? (I'm 17)

I avoid sunlight and/or getting tanned like the plague. Looking at the long term damage on people who didn't makes me glad I did. Exercise and drinking water are also very important.

My arthritis medications make my skin extra sensitive to the sun, so I stay out of the direct sunlight and spend more time outside at night.

As for looking young, I started losing my hair when I was in my late teens.....the only way I look young now is if I wear a ball cap.

+3 on staying out of sunlight. Besides ending up with leathery skin and crows feet, melanoma risks and such, it's just so much nicer at night.

I'm in favor of slowing down or stopping the aging process. However, I wouldn't want to live forever either. 80 or 90 is plenty for me; then let someone else have a turn.

Far side of crazy.
Badbeams3,

For me, it's much like you already stated, I drink a lot of beer and take numerous vitamins while hanging out with older ugly people.

Killing the nicotine addiction has been the best for me because once I realized that I may live a long time with poor health as a smoker, I opted to finally quit so that whatever time that I may have left will be lived a little further away from behind the 8 ball.

I was carded once at a bar when I was 31. I ask her if I could give her a kiss.

I'm twice that now, so I don't have to worry about that anymore. ;)

I was.. I'll say, pursued, by a hot 21 yr old co-worker when I was in my early 50's.

I have 5 siblings. We have all be told over the years we don't look our age.

A brother just got 'hit on' by someone in her 30's. She was shocked when she found out he was 58.

I think it's mostly in your genes.

I am young and healthy for my age. I get asked to show ID at clubs all the times. Watching those jaws drop when they see my ID is fun. I thought I was young-looking until I met this 60 year-old looking man at a gas station. We were both waiting to get our cars inspected. We began talking and he asked me how old I thought he was. I told him 60 years old. He laughed and said he was 92. Naturally, I asked him what his secrets were. He told me that he lives a relatively tress-free life. He just goes with the flow, does not get overly excited or mad over anything or anyone. He does not hold a grudge.

Both of our cars did not pass the inspection. He smiled and thanked the inspection guy and went on his way. I fumed and argued with the guy.

While I personally have mostly gray hair I know a Candlepowerforum member well who has no gray hair at 60 years of age and has been carded buying some beer when he was 60 while he was with me. He always has said take lots of Vitamin C, MSM, MMS and distilled water. He avoids doctors like the plague. He never eats big dinners, dairy products, sugar or wheat products. Physically he can run circles around most people in their twenties. I know as I live with him but he won't let me say who he is so don't ask.

Interesting. My dad does not eat big dinners and almost never eats any dairy products. He is 85 and can run rings around me and has no medical problems. Nota, nothing, Zilch, I never heard of such bull.
I'm falling apart.

That's it no more big dinners.

I got carded for buying an R-rated movie at Walmart last year. I was 34. No secrets other than general immaturity.
