Easy question - what's the difference between the C2 and Z2?

They seem essentially the same to me - what am I missing?

Well they have completely different bodies

Z2 & C2

They both use P60 style dropins.

The C2 can be bored, the Z2 can't

Are the bezels the same?

Out of curiosity why can't you bore a Z2?

C2 is available in HA.

Yes the bezels (and the tail caps) are the same.

The diamater is too small.

Boring would either weaken the stucture far to much or rip the body apart :nana:

Also, the C2 has a pocket clip, whereas the Z2 does not.

I think (I don't own one so I don't know, but I've read...) the round body of the Z2 also allows you to add/remove the rubber spacers next to the combat grip, thus adjusting the grip to your preferences.

It'll just cut the tail threads right off at the o-ring groove depending on how tight the guy machined it. It is still pretty bad.

The Z2 is sort of a mini C2.

Thanks guys I am just trying to expand my knowledge past the P C and M series.

IMHO the Z2 is a little more comfortable to cigar hold because its round body.

when holding in cigar grip, there are only two ways you can hold the C2 (cos of the clip) but since the Z2 is all round, you can hold it every which way

The "Z2" is the civilian model, whereas the "C2" is billed as the bigger, thicker and more readily abused military model.

Some people find the C2 easier to grip or vice versa. The C2 also comes in HAIII, as noted earlier; the Z2 does not.

The tailcaps and bezels for the P, C, Z and G series are all interchangeable.

I believe someone started a sticky earlier regarding all the Surefire models available and the specific interchangeability between models.

You may find that of interest if you want to expand your knowledge of all things Surefire.
