Oh my. Received my first Surefire yesterday, an LX2. Wow. I've been lusting after an E1B and, you guessed it, one day later I succumbed to the temptation and the E1B will be here tomorrow - overnight shipping!

It Arrived

I gushed

My Fenix L1D Q5 will assume new duties as a car flashlight.

If I were in the military or a law enforcement officer, it might be understandable, but I'm just Joe Schmuck who has been bitten by this curious sickness!! And an E2DL is SCREAMING at me!! Buy me, buy me!

I know I am not alone - where can I find therapy? I know - perhaps another Surefire....

Forget the wife, I want to be in DaFABRICATA's WILL!

That is one sweet collection. Gives me something to strive for.

Have any of the M6's been modded to LED? I was thinking of sending Milky mine for an LED upgrade.

NO wife, no kids (that I know of anyway:thinking::aaa: ), no car payment...hell I don't even drive so no insurance or gas to pay for.

Yes, The M6's have been modified.
One has the LED Zep MZXR-7 and the other has the MZP7-3 mod.
7 Crees with McR19XR's
3 P7's running full blast at 3A.

Surefires can get very addicting.

Especially when there are so many Lego combinations. You find yourself going "if I buy this adaptor than all this stuff will work with this" and so forth..:tinfoil:...its an endless hopeless cycle once you start..:duh2::ohgeez::broke:

Oh yes it is... I bought a Z2... then a G2, then a 6P. All in a few weeks.

I'm praying my wallet stays fat somehow.

Holy crap it is addicting. I can vouch for the "adapter will work all the other crap I have" just look at the new V2 vampire and Purple Investigator. Combined I can have a purple black light that I can dub the "vampire killer"

There really isn't much hope for you. I thought I stopped buying surefires a couple months ago but then broke down and got a silver E1B. Then got my gf a Titan T1A and then I needed the E1B's big brother, the E2DL. I got good deals on them. But I got the itch for a X300 and scoutlight.

These flashlights get their hooks in you, don't they?!
There may be more than one or two explanations as to why we obsess, but I believe that, at least in part, it is merely a part of our human nature.
A couple months ago a YouTube poster was giving someone a hard time in the comments section about his knife collection and EDC philosophy, I posted the following comment in response:
As humans we recognize our shortcomings and try to overcome them.
Our teeth, hands, and fingernails are limited so we make tools to overcome this limitation.
We have limited night vision so we make fire.
We've made machines to allow us to fly or ride over far greater distances than we could ever walk or run.
These hobbies are merely an expression of that trait that evolution has built into us over millions of years.
Our great brains also have a biased but competent memory. If you've ever needed a knife or flashlight in an emergency situation you know that you would've paid any price for one at the time, knowing that we take steps to prevent that in the future. You won't catch ME without a knife or flashlight again!
Stabbing is probably one of the last things you need a knife for but a handy feature nonetheless.

I'm not a psychologist so these are just my beliefs based on observations.
I'd wager that any of us would be waaayyyyy over-prepared in the event of a run of the mill emergency requiring illumination.

I DO know that if the feces hits the fan I'll have plenty of lights and knifes, (and a ton of other stuff!) for me and my family. If it doesn't, it will be an interesting garage sale when I'm dead and gone.
