Can I safely drive this XR-E with 1.2A? Or does it generally like to see lower current levels than a Q5-WC?

700mA drive level for a neutral white XR-E is equivalent to 1A drive level for a cool white. So, 1.2A for your 5A tint is about like a 1.7A drive level for a WC tint. It can be done with good heatsinking, but is pushing it!
