Default RA Twisty 100TW "new model coming out?"

I was just over on Battery Station's site looking at twisty prices and noticed a little note stating that the 100TW's are sold out but "a new model is coming".
Does anyone have any current info on this?

    Henry?
    Anyone?

If you go to Battery Station's website be sure to use the CPF discount page to get there and check out their CPF ONLY specials!
Good deals for the cost of signing up on CPF.
As always I have to post the big CPF discount page that GreenLED has compiled also: http://www.cpfmarketplace.com/mp/sho...d.php?t=181841

I saw that yesterday while trying to decide whether or not to get one of the remaining 85TR's. I assumed it was just an old message.

Can't wait to see what's up Henry's sleeve. I smell another Ti Twisty! Does this make it odor-ware?

Excellent news, er, I mean, officially unconfirmed rumor. I'm happy to hear of this development - love my Twisties!

Looking forward to whatever Henry is planning.
I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it.

Thanks for the reply Henry .

Anyone want to, shall we say, speculate on the possible "new model"?

I'm thinking something along the lines of higher lumens, longer runtimes, perhaps something similar to the clickys with a GDP emitter?

Hopefully the original design (body style) will remain the same.

Let's not get carried away now, buddy. A new model that has higher lumens and longer runtimes? WOW

A 120N would be nice. Or one with a locator flash.

Those are probably the only things that would make me spend more money.

I'll add a +1 to that as is my custom.
Sat around and waited a long long long time for the 18650 tube to come out for the twisty last year. By the time it was out I'd lost interest as the clickies had come out with better specs, but no 18650 support.
    1) Neutral white, it's the new black. Heck, it's not even "new" anymore.
    2) User Interface... KISS.
    3) Proprietary cells and battery packs - Just say NO!

I e-mailed Henry about it and he said the Ra Twisty would be similar to the Ra Clicky (other than the UI) so I don't think there are going to be 18650 battery tubes or different LEDs. It looks to be like a much needed Twisty update.

I'm interested in hearing about a new model, but am sure glad I have my 18650 extension tube for my twistys. . .

    Lumenz,

The Ra Twisty does have accessory battery compartments that will take an 18650. They are currently available and shipping - listed under accessories. They are called 19670 - the true size of an 18650 cell after adding the protection circuit.

Take a look at "Twisty R19670 battery compartment" under the Ra Twisty accessories here.

Also, I am not sure why you conclude there will not be any LED options when the Ra Clicky has many LED options already.

I misunderstood. So basically they are going to be Ra Clickys without the click.

Will the Clicky is going to get an R19670 battery tube in the near future?

    Splunk_Au,

The electrical requirements for the battery compartments for the Ra Twisty and Ra Clicky are quite different. The way the switching works between the two is also quite different. As a result, the battery compartments are not interchangeable.

    Lumenz,

The two interfaces are quite different. However, certain "features" map equally well into either interface while certain other "features" do not map well into both interfaces.

Due to physical limitations in the design, the Ra Clicky can accommodate a 17670 battery compartment, but not a 19670 battery compartment. A 17670 provides roughly 75% of the capacity of a 19670.

This is very interesting. A 17670 body for the clicky would be welcome. If you make them in Ti, line me up.

I am very much looking forward to your new twisty plans. Titanium <=> . Ti + AlTiN <=> . One of each <=> but .

Exciting times! My Twisty is the best tailstanding light I own - I am very curious as to what changes will come with a new Ra Twisty.
    Brian

After getting an HDS, other flashlights seem much less relevant (Except for some of the really special lights found on CPF!)
When things are really dark, a dim light for a long time is much better than a blinding light for a short time.
