This morning my U-2 began blinking while only putting out its lowest level of light when I would turn it on. I tried changing the batteries and making sure the contacts were clean but to no avail. It blinks on and off in its lowest output no matter where I have the selector knob set. Is the chip fried or did I accidentally get it into some kind of test mode? Any ideas?

that's what it does when the batteries are dead... are you sure the ones you put in are good?

Give Surefire a call, they'll take care of you. :)

Well, uhh, as Jed Clampett would say, "Weeeelllllll Doggie!"

This afternoon I took it out and tried it and it is working again as it should.

Okaaay, whatever. As long as it works again I'm happy.

Mine did a similar thing as you describe on an intermittent basis. Eventually it started to do this permanently. New batteries didn't help.

Glad everything worked out for you. Good news is that it's a surefire with the best warranty in the industry (if something else out of the normal should arise).
