Need Battery Help for a First Timer

I've just recently started buying flashlights for the joy of it the fun of seeing how far I can throw a beam. I just placed an order with DealExtreame.com for the following two flashlights:

• UltraFire A10 HA-III Cree Q5-WC HA-III 220-Lumen LED Flashlight (1*AA/1*14500)
• Ultrafire C3 Stainless Steel Cree Q5-WC 5-Mode 190-Lumen Memory LED Flashlight (1*AA/1*14500)

Both mention the 14500 battery and it would appear that it's the preferred battery for maximum power. I've been reading various reports on this forum about which 14500 battery to use, which charger to use and the possibility of the 14500 damaging the flashlight? My question is, what should I use? Do I use standard AA batteries? Do I use Lithium batteries? Or is it safe to use 14500 batteries in these two flashlights? Any help for a Flashlight Newbie would be greatly appreciated!
