I have been a big fan of this particular drop in since I first got it but in reading a few old threads I came across some information that made me appreciate it even more. I always knew it had a long runtime but it will actually run significantly brighter on 3x CR123 or 2x Li-Ion than it will on 2x CR123 or 1x Li-Ion. I never noticed this before but I just went out and tested it with 1x 1760 and 2x IMR 16340 and to my eyes it looks 50% brighter or more on two cells. I was lighting up a tree at 100 yards with it! It isn't as bright as an M60 but it doesn't use anywhere near as much power either. This amazing little drop in is full of tricks! I think of it as the multi-mode Malkoff. Here's a few highlights.

-18 hours regulated run time on 2x CR123 with 80 lumens of output.

-120+ lumens when driven over 8v.
(BigWaffles reported 140 lumens for 13 hours on 3x CR123)

-60 lumens of output on 2x AA alkaline batteries with a useful direct drive runtime measured in days.

-Can run on at least three different useful battery types; CR123, Li-Ion and AA.

Is the 18 hours run time per BigWaffles charts? I've always wondered why he got 18 hours, and Gene states 8. IIRC, BigWaffles also reported way less than 80 lumens (which may be why he got 18 hours?). Why the difference?
