Yeah, I'm familiar with the A2. I think I'm trying to wish a new model into existance. A digital E2 should be somewhat shorter and cheaper.

The A2 is basically a digital E2. The extra circuitry is the reason it is longer than the E2 The A2 is the shortest 2 cell regulated light we are going to see for awhile.

Maybe a long while.

I think the Aviator A2 is due out the end of this year. It's regulated on both outputs and has both LEDs and Incandescent and is the same output in incandescent mode as the E2.

That's all I've heard...

I think the L1 has a luxeon star not an incandescent lamp.

*Edit: Okay I doublechecked and it is definitely a luxeon star light.
Quoted from Size 15's:
The SureFire L1 is a digitally regulated flashlight with a Luxeon like the KL1 powered by one SF123A, BUT like the A2, has a two stage pressure switch giving you low output/long runtime beam or standard output beam depending on how much pressure you put on the switch...

Forgive me if this has been discused, but is there any sign that SF is working on a digitaly regulated E2? If I remember correctly, alot of the digitaly regulated lights were put on hold.

The A2 would be perfect if it did not have the 3 LEDs. Yuck
