I just visited the 47's web site and saw this message in the TK40 section Do not use Energizer Lithium AA cells for this light. Anyone know why?? I think Iam gonna give them a call Tuesday and inquire about this as alot of people use these batteries....

ASAIK it's not recommend by Fenix to use lithium batteries in the TK40 period, at least not for long term use.

There are references to this issue in the following thread:

People may use them, and you may call but per the manufacturer Lithium primaries are not specified for use in the TK40.

Update:
Reason I was given was the voltage was too high with lithium cells. I measured and averaged the voltage of 8 cells with a date code of 2023 and got 1.80 volts, I guess 7.2 isnt good for the light but what about the regulator?
Botton line for me is I wont use them in my $150 torch...dont want to :poof: it.

Voltages were
1.795
1.806
1.816
1.788
1.812
1.805
1.797
1.801

I wonder if EA91 would perform better in the TK40, and by better I mean worse, would could possibly be safer.
