I´ve been thinking of modding my Mag 2C. I have following "spare parts" for the construction:

Maglite 2C (inner diam. of tube approx. 26mm)
3 x Cree XR-E Q5 Emitter (228LM at 1A)
2 x 18650 (fully charged approx 9V)
Reflectors
Multisink (Download)
Wide/deep tailcap (Fivemega)

What kind of DRIVER would suit to this kind of construction  ?
(Or should I just forget it:mecry:)

Depends on how much your willing to spend on the driver :naughty:

The Maxflex is my favourite, great UI and the current can be set at 1.2A
if you want to overdrive your emitters a bit
But with the Maxflex you need to modify the Mag switch so that it is
momentary action. Search for threads by member Wquiles for a tutorial
on how to do this.

BTW why only 3 emitters ? You can fit 4 McR19XR reflectors on a Modamag
PXR heatsink

If you want cheap, you can use 3 cheaper buck drivers. One for each LED, presuming there is enough space.

Use 4x XR-E or 1x MC-E will be easier instead of 3x led.

A (8x 7135 multi-level driver) 2.8A wire similar like this:

I am using this driver in my 2C to 1x MCE, took out 2x 7135, 6x 7135 is fine for me, each die 1A, 4 die = 4A.

Download, I've saved all 4 configurations you posted before. Thank-you, they're such an awesome idea.
