E1E/E2E - Extra-Low Output Bulb for Rechargeables

Surefire E series fascinate me so much that I would like to expand their use. There is just something in little incandescent lamp shining in your hands that makes it more attractive than other emitters.
Extremely bright setups I have are excellent for outdoor, and it would be nice to build a very low output configuration for indoor and use with dark adapted vision.

There are many options for high and extreme output, but I could not find a reference to extra-low output bulb for use with rechargeable cells.

Of course I can experiment with stock lamps and LiFeP04 cells. But low capacity and risk of insta-flashing divert from this idea.

So, here is the question to experts in the incandescent field.
Which low and extra-low output bulbs fitting SF E series are available for 3.7V rechargeable cells?

Thanks,
Andrey

17670 is a good suggestion and I will try fitting it as discussed here.

MN03 with RCR123a appears too yellow for my eyes.
MN02, however, reported to be whiter than MN02 on single cell.
It will be ordered and tested shortly.

Still looking for analog of MN01/2 designed for RCR123a cells.

Tried Mag 2 cell AA Xenon bulb in FM bi-pin adapter with used RCR123a.
Had to bend leads and use small washer between adapter and reflector since filament is further away from lamp base than in Strion/TL-3.
The bulb draws 0.46A at 3.6V and is much dimmer that MN01 (0.68A at 2.8V).
Produces very white soft beam with shape similar to one of MN01.
Being overdriven lamp will unlikely last long. But with a price of less than a $1 it is not an issue.

Any ideas for bulbs with lower output for E1E/E2E?

Let us know if the MN02 is whiter than the MN03 on one rechargeable cell, I don't expect it to be. Think it will be worse actually.

wow, it didn't blow?
gee... assuming its a 3V lamp thats 40% more juice going to it.
Most 2 cell xenons are 2.4V in design, dunno about them bipins:candle:

Of course, it shortly did. Giving less than 30 minutes total run time.
And this is with almost depleted RCR123a. Unpractical.

Ordered following lamps from lightbulbdepot.com:
6150 T1 5V 0.06A
7211 T1 5V 0.08A
7216 T1 5V 0.125A
Going to under-drive them with single rechargeable cell.

7349 T1.75 6.3V 0.2A
7380 T1.75 6.3V 0.04A
Can these be over-driven with two cells?
Maybe use them on primaries since run time promises to be quite long for practical purposes -- 7 and 35 hours respectively.

1869 T1.75 10V 0.014A
These should turn out really nice. Hot wire incan with over 50 hours of run time on a single charge! ;)

What do you guys think?

Lamps with that low of wattage probably will be of very little use for a flashlight. That one looks like something that might light up on your car's dashboard to indicate when the rear defrost is on....

Ordered bulbs finally arrived. I was surprised how long it took for Light Bulb Depot to ship them.
Here are test results.

All bulbs have useful brightness!
6150 and 1869 are really dim giving the 'moon mode' suitable for walking around things in total darkness.

715 (5V 0.115A, received instead of 7211 and 7216) and 7349 driven with two cells are as bright as Solitaire but with much nicer smooth beam.

7349 and 7380 do not fit in either E*E nor D26 reflectors due to plastic base. It can not be removed without breaking welding between real tiny leads and pins.

Beam tint is the killer though! All lamps are too yellow. 1869 is even orange!

So the search for practical E*E X-LOLA continues and your suggestions are welcome!
