This light has 3 modes , High - Medium - and Low , testing current draw gave me .

Alkaline Battery No1 / High = 0.84A / Medium = 0.23A / Low = 0.03A

Alkaline Battery No2 / High = 0.85A / Medium = 0.23A / Low = 0.03A

Rechargeable No1 / High = 0.84A / Medium = 0.23A / Low = 0.03A

Rechargeable No2 / High = 0.85A / Medium = 0.23A / Low = 0.03A



Measuring light output @ each mode [ power level ]

Alkaline Battery No1 / High = 70Lumen / Medium = 20Lumen / Lo = 2Lumen

Alkaline Battery No2 / High = 70Lumen / Medium = 20Lumen / Lo = 2Lumen

Rechargeable No1 / High = 80Lumen / Medium = 22Lumen / Lo = 2Lumen

Rechargeable No2 / High = 80Lumen / Medium = 22Lumen / Lo = 2Lumen

Again , great quality , nothing negative to report , all is as should be .

I do like the current draw .. If you have a 800mAh AAA battery your looking at very reasonable run times .

Around 1 hour on high , 3 - 4 hours on medium , and around 28 hours on low .

I checked the results from the 1st one I got [ Natural ] and the results are the same , same current draw and output .
So the results are very even over 2 lights , and several months of production .

Thanks for the test. It looks like CC did not inflate the lumens then. How about a test with L91 battery? The Maratac is great little light. Coming from me, that's a huge endorsement.

Thanks for the current draw data 4570. They sure are great little lights that perform beyond their price point. It's not uncommon for me to have one in each front pocket when I leave the house.

Does anyone know if this light can be turned back on in low mode if the light doesn't have enough power to run on high? That is to say, can I run it on high until the battery dies and still have low light for a couple of hours as an emergency back up?

It depends on the rebound of the battery chemistry that your using but yes, generally they can be turned back on to low for emergency light. The time will vary of course. Energizer Lithium seem to rebound pretty well.

Thanks Patriot. I just ran down an alkaline tonight as a test. I didn't realize that they will drop to low mode instead of just dying. That is even better than what I was hoping for.

I test in 2 light boxes , for minimum readings .

Looks like the driver would be in the high 90% range, effeciency wise, if it is outputing about, or close to 80 lumens, and only pulling 840mA's from an AA battery.
