I have been using my VME head and a Malkoff M60WL on a pre cree Surefire L1 body and so far I have good results.

Anyone else done this for any length of time? At this point I'm not seeing a down side but I've not done a runtime test either. I bet the low goes for a long time.

If you're OK with the inefficiency of two drivers wired in serial, sure.

I'd rather use a E-series body and a tail cap with a McE2S.

I did the same thing for a while with two (minor) differences.

1. I used a bored out L1 body with no driver and a 17500 cell.
2. The Malkoff was in a VG head. Looks better than the VME IMHO.

It worked very well with the low level and 2nd gen 4-flats body.

I have it in a McC2S equipped 6P right now which works similarly, just fits two cells or 18650.
