So anyone try any of these LEDs with the classic Luxeon NX05 optic? I want to get a sandwich built for my Firefly, but I want to keep the stock look
SSC P4 or Cree behind NX05?

Yes, I had a badboy 400 sandwich in a minimag that I upgraded from the Luxeon to a P4. The NX05 seemed to work well and still fit the P4.
The P4 works very well with a NX-05 is focused correctly. I upgrade FFs with a P4 by replacing the 2mm thick UCL with a 1mm thick lens which will allow the optic to sit higher from the P4. This will give a beam similar to a SF Luxeon TIR but not as square, large spot with almost no spill.

Thanks. So the beam pattern on the SSC and the Lux III are not exactly the same?
