Watch out for outdated emitters. With higher flux XPGs around the corner, old Luxeon based designs will be pushed even further obsolete.

Many of their lights are glued together so getting them apart for mods can be difficult.

But they are well made, durarble, reliable and if you don't care for maximum efficiency or output they can be a good choice.

sure for us flashaholics,

but as a gift, a $60 3 mode 100 lumen light with long runtime for $20

may be better then a m*g?

I would rather gift a mag. You can get the newer rebel 3D / 2AA Costco set for ~$30 (IIRC). better lights IMHO, for non CPFers.

But thats just me.

My cyans went fine. I did 9 LuxIII and one LuxV :twothumbs
I know yours went well. My kid's been enjoying the cyan Q-III.

I thought I remember talk of kramer5150 attempting a cyan LuxV swap a month or so back.

BTW Paul... ever attempt swapping a red (or other low Vf) LuxIII into one of the big Q-III's (2-cell w/buck converter)?

No, I never tried that.

My LuxV cyan is a direct swap for a Q5 emitter.

Glad to hear the Q3 cyan is being enjoyed! :D
