I'm looking for a 1x18650 light that lets me select the modes by turning a ring on the body with an output of at least 500 lumens on high. Any recommendations?

500 lumens, 1x18650, No memory?

Ok, seems like the twist rings are rare with 500 lumens, so now I'm looking for a light with at least 500 lumens, runs on 1x18650, and NO MEMORY. I want it to always come on in high mode. I'd put a Malkoff M60 MC-E in one of my MD-2's, but they need at least 4.5v.

Any options?

Thanks

My best suggestion would be to wait for 4Sevens to release his Maelstrom series. I suspect that would completely satisfy your specs. Just don't know how long it'll be. It's been on the verge of release for quite a while now.

+1.
If we're correct, it should not be longer than 2-3 weeks--at least for the formal ANNOUNCEMENT--though actual ship date is less certain...

Deerelight DBS with a 1 mode MC-E Pill is a good choice, but it is 2x18650

Milky can put a MC-E in a Surefire U2 and get something like that...;)

A word of warning.
How long will you be running your light at a stretch? Worst case.
500 OTF lumens means running a SSC-P7, MC-E, or SST-50 close to full out. That generates A LOT OF HEAT. With a small 1*18650 light it gets hot in 5 minutes, TOO HOT TO HOLD in 10.
The hotspot of many of the 200+ lumen XR-E Q5/R2 and XP-G lights are brighter (though smaller) than the P7/MC-E 500 lumen floody lights. Check the LUX #s in addition to the Lumen #s. They may be more useful than the small 500 lumen lights.

EDC-MCE single mode.

Milky makes a 500 lumen Roomsweeper, that will run off a 18650. Only comes with one setting, bright.

I was under the impression that most single 18650 mc-e lights dont truly get 500 otf lumens, but more like 350-400.
