Rusted clip and body

Decided to take the clip off of my ArcAAA last night, only to find an ugly mess. Looks like the clip rusted quite a bit and also rusted the body.

Light still functions perfectly, of course. :twothumbs

It has never gotten wet, and although summers here can be a little humid, it stayed indoors most of that time.

Anybody have this happen to them? Advice on cleaning or what my next step should be?

the body isnt rusted, thats physically impossible, but the clip (spring steel) has rusted, the rust on the body will wash right off.

I didn't figure it was possible for it to rust, but I wanted to check.

Looks like I need to get to scrubbing!

Now, anyone have a good alternative for a clip? Preferably something that won't rust?

An old toothbrush will clean the body right up, a bit of oil on the inside of the clip should stop the rust.
