Good morning CPF,
Some websites state that the Surefire KL5 head can be used on 3 cell bodies (9p,C3 etc), giving the head a theoretical 9v max. Surefire states on it's website that it is only compatable with certain bodies such as the C2, G2, 6P, etc, suggesting a 6v max. Does anybody know which is true? I plan to use the head with 2 li ion cells (8.4v max) will this fry the new head?

If you buy a single KL5 head, the packaging says it´s compatible with a C3, 9P.... meaning 9V max. I´ll try to find a picture of it´s packaging.

I did some beamshots with different battery configurations for my KL5 and it had the same brightness with the following batteries/rechargeables: 2x CR123A, 1x 17670, 2x RCR123. Only with 3x CR123A it achieved a higher brightness. Since it is supposed to be regulated I am not quite sure if it really has a max. of 9V.

Found the image of the KL5 packaging:

And I just learned from another thread the KL5 is not regulated but has a boost driver instead.
