I was a kid of five when I saw her and Humphrey Bogart in "African Queen" in 1951. I still remember Bogart covered in bloodsuckers after he came out of the river. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

She was one of the best....

CNN's obituary:

"I don't regret anything I've ever done," she said, "as long as I enjoyed it at the time."

I was a fan of the movie, and HAD to stop to see the old boat in the Florida Keys. It's been restored, and looks great. Forget whick Key, but one of the more northern ones.

....or Peck, Stewart, Tracy, Fonda, etc.. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif Farewell Kate, you made a difference and enriched my life with your spirit. You will not be forgotten. God's speed to you.

More bad news, folks. Not to detract from Kate's passage, but the streak that started a few weeks ago with Peck, Brinkley, Maddox, and Thurmond has continued with the addition of Buddy Hackett and just this morning.....Barry White. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif Its been a rough summer so far, for the well known. On the bright side, Katharine Hepburn's estate will be releasing a biography that has been in the works for awhile. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif Seattle Times
