Quark preflash question

I have both the Quark Titanium 123^2 regular and the Quark RGB nuetral-white. On moonlight I get what I've heard is called preflash. A very, very short flash of light immediately after I turn the light on and then it goes to moonlight mode. It appears to me to be the same brightness as low. I have tried both primary and rechargeables. I was wondering if this is normal or is there something I can do to correct it.

Thank you for any comments or suggestions,
Brian

Normal, and has been discussed at great length in some different threads.

Nothing you can do to correct it - it's just an unfortunate downside to part of the circuit design. Does it bother you?

I don't find it to be a big deal at all... its so short it wont really hurt your night vision. You can always cover the lens for a second when you first turn it on.

hey, welcome to CPF

ITS a normal "feature" of the quarks if I recall. You can find some threads on this when using the search engine.

Take care
