For those of you that have rechargeable LED flashlights that charge in a cradle, like Inova T4, Streamlight Stinger LED, Pelican 7060, etc. do you leave them on the charger at all times when not in use?

If so, or if not, do they really need be left in the charger all of the time when not in use?

Does it matter if it is a lithium ion battery vs. nickel cadmium? What about nickle metal hydride?
