Hi noob here to forums but have been a life long flashlight lover :twothumbs! I have a 3AAA & 2 AA Duracell Daylite and both leds have gone out and can't for the life of me figure out how to open the head to gain acess to the emitter. I know that they have the lifetime warranty but i am considering doing a mod and putting a bigger emitter in. Does anybody have any idea on how to open the head.

Thanks

That's actually a cheap design flashlight when you open it up.

First off, u twist the very tip of the bezel. There's a small section about 4mm from top that holds the lens on. Twist it off

Second, you need to slowly twist the bezel but make sure u hold the flashlight upside-down. For that reason, the emitter is soldered onto the circuit board with a pair of 3" wire. When holding it upside-down, the plate holding the emitter will fall out of the groove on the bezel and allow u to twist without ripping off the wire.

Now that you've loosened the bezel to where you can gain access to the plate that the emitter sits on, pick off the lens. It's held by 3 hooks that slides in and locks it in place.

Here's how it looks like unassembled.

You can heat the solder weld on the emitter to release the wires. I ended up ripping the wires by accident, as u can see.
