I have a Surefire 9p with a Q5 BOG dropin using Surefire primaries and am pretty happy with it. What combination of batteries and dropin would give me the most light output though? I am looking for more flood than throw. I have a WF 139 charger and have been using LiIon for a few months now. Can I even fit LiIons in my 9p? Thanks for the help guys. Mods feel free to move this if I have posted it in the wrong forum.

You can fit two 17500's in a 9P body. Lots of people bore the tube out to fit a pair of 18500's (significantly higher capacity than 17500's). A few members here offer this mod as a service, and a few others sell pre-bored or custom bodies.

For brightest drop-in, try here.

Unbored:

- 2 17500s
- 2 17650s with A19 extender

Bored:

- 2 18500s
- 2 18650s with bored A19 extender

I would bore it and then buy a bored A19 extender from ElectronGuru (who will bore the 9P also) and then get a NailBender SST-50 drop-in (found in link above).

A Malkoff M-60 variant would be a nice setup gor a 9p. You could run it on 2 17500 for high output and use 2 aa's for a low output long runtime.Best of both worlds.

I've heard the M60F (flood) is exceptional. I have the warm version in my 9P and like it very much. If you expect a lot of hours, the rechargeable route may be the best.
