Quick Q on running XR-E or P4

more or less. You'd have to make sure that each LED that you put in parallel has the same Vf as the others at your planned driving current, and you should ensure that they all have adequate cooling to keep them near the same temperature. You have more wobble room with the temperature, but your Vfs should be dead-on even.

So yeah, more or less.

I'd rather run them slightly under spec if anything - I am aiming to provide some ambient lighting over a double bed. I'm looking for probably the same as an old fashioned wall-mounted light with a shade at around 40watt. The LEDs will be pointing down and I may change my mind and just run them direct drive, but I'd like some remote control over brightness. :)

I confess this is partly to keep my itchy fingers doing something while the parts arrive for my flashlight mod. ;)
