I tried the search function and found plenty of hits, but not what I was looking for. I have a Canon Powershot SD1000 Digital Elph and I would like to take a beamshot pic of a Coast V2 Micro Moon Flashlight beamshot.
I guess the camera would be about 12 inches away? Should I use the close-up function? About the only thing I do know is that I have to turn off the flash! Not looking for anything elaborate because I wouldn't know how and also the beamshot is not much either.

Thanks,
paul

I have the SD1200 IS, pretty much the same camera :)

For beamshtos where your just showing the beam pattern of 1 light and not comparing brightness, you pretty much just have to back up 1-3 meters from a wall, hold the camera a few inches away from the light, and point them both at a large white wall. Snap a few pictures in auto, pick the best one, and post away! No need to get bogged down in manual controls, at most lower the exposure a few notches to show details of the hotspot.
