I have a question. From the pix in the
SureFire.com website, it appears that the
Click-on LOTC is longer than the original
Twist-On LOTC that comes with each unit.
In particular, I'm looking at the D2 / Z2.

Can someone confirm this? When installed,
how much longer is it? Thanks.

Can you be more precise? Is it 10mm longer
or 5mm? What's this +/- 5mm? +/- 5mm means
it can be anywhere from -5mm to +5mm. That
doesn't make sense to me. I'm totally confused
by your answer.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">LLLean,

This will have to be in inches, sorry about that.

(1) The LOTC itself measures 1 3/16" including tail button
The Clickie LOTC measures 1 13/16" (tailbutton is recessed)
____________________________________________________________________________________________________

(2) Mounted on a 6P total length with LOTC tightened to the max is 5" exactly. (note, over the years there has been some variation in 6P body length, which of course will not affect this test).

Mounted on a 6P total length with Clickie tightened to the max is 5 9/16".

The LOTC clickie increases 6P length by 9/16" greater than the standard LOTC.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________

There is an apparent discrepancy of 1/16" between
(1) and (2) possibly caused by different tailcap thread depths or testing variables.

Therefore: when installed, the clickie LOTC increases total flashlight length by 9/16" longer than the Standard LOTC plus or minus 1/16".

BUTTTTTTTTT...I don't understand why the clickie tailcaps are a bit bigger in diameter than the light of the body. It kind or irks me, and screws up all the holster/holders out there...

Perhaps because the thing that makes them click is large?

The SW02 is large because it "fits" with the requirements of the MU WeaponLight System.

Perhaps only one Clickie mechanism was developed. After all, the Charlie TailCap was specifically developed after a request from "one of [SureFire's] Special Forces customers"

As we know, demand for a Clickie was very high. The need to get a "flashlight" version released asap meant using the same clickie switch in a more appropriate body style.

Brightnorm,

Thanks for your concise report. As usual, your
reviews are always concise and a pleasure to read.
I wish everyone can follow your style.

Hmmm... looks like i'll have to reconsider
getting the Clickie if it's going to add 9/16
to a 6P. I wonder why it can't be made smaller.
Maybe, so a new regular-sized clickie can be
marketed 12 months from now? Hahaha....

Thanks again.
