I've started hanging out at BikeForums.net and am having a good time! Actually, with all this sunlight, I've spent more time thinking about bikes than lights /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

And then there's alt.rec.bicycles.recumbent, for the truly modern cyclist /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

After 15 years of riding DFs for about 2k miles per year, I am getting a Rans Rocket next week. But I digress....

Bent Rider Online is a small but decent site.
Dont forget that you might have a local site... like Southern Bicycle League

A very strange dark place
Mark and obeck,
I have been riding bents for over 4 years (HPVelotechnik Street Machine) and just bought my wife and kids a EZ-1 Super Cruiser to ride. Seems that half of Texas has ridden that recumbent. I like mtbr.com, bentrideronline.com and roadbikereview.com.

Better stay away from recumbents, if you're worried about spending money: my last bike (Streetmachine with *all* the options) cost almost €4.000, the current one (Optima Baron lowracer) €2.000 (and a lot on mods), and my next one will cost €6.000 ! Still cheaper than a car, and at 6k miles/year it's money well spent, I guess.
Explaining a €300 light should be easy by comparison...

I would agree with the statement of "stay away from recumbents". Although pricey, they are so much fun to ride. You can see front and back profiles of my bike here and here.

A good source of info for handcycles is found here.
