MiniMag Multi-Mode vs TLE-5EX output

I picked up a MiniMag Multi-Mode at Home Depot over the holidays for less than $10. For my other 2AA MiniMags laying around, I've been thinking about trying one of those Terralux TLE-5EX modules... just can't pull the trigger based on the upgrade cost.

SO - how does the output of the TLE-5EX in a standard MM compare with the output I'm seeing from my newly acquired MM Multi-Mode ?

The Terralux is brighter. And works pretty well with the Nite Ize IQ switch.

I had both and they are different lights. The minimag has more throw and the terralux is much more flood. Minimal difference as far as brightness. But the multimode drove me nuts, so I gave it away

The 5ex is well worth the price. Dont buy the nite ize switch though, i bought it and it killed the power down so much it wasnt worth buying the upgrade. I you want a clickie get the terralux switch, or buy the niteize combo with led and switch. The niteize is much better though.
