Re: Ti S27-PD 917ma drive

Does it still have the original driver? (DBx2?)

Any idea how long it will stay in regulation on an RCR123A?

My words! Silly me, 4 months ago I could have bought a CX2 pack together with my LS27, I asked to have the package split!!! :ohgeez:

If the funds weren't missing, I'd take it nevertheless, they are rare and next time when I find a pack, I'll kick myself for not having bought the light... :sigh:

What's the difference in the heads between this one that came off a CX2 or the one that originally was on a PD?

As I was interested in this one and just got an S27 Cx2 I made some researches. The head of the Cx2 is meant to be run on 2 cells and thus accepts and needs higher voltage. It will run on a single cell, but will fall out of regulation at one point, which depends on the Vf of the LED.

I couldn't find further informations on what to expect exactls with one cell, I guess rechargeables will give better results than primaries due to the higher voltage.

I don't know if there were 917mAh drives for one cell use, if there were, they were rare!

The S27 PD single cell was the same as the PD-S only having a 27mm head.
GDx2 converter (525/25 mA two level constant curent drive)

The S27 Cx2 had this:
DBx2-917 converter 917ma on high/125 mA on low.
I use mine on both one or two cells.
Frank

Can't you tell us how it performs on one cell? I'm also interested in using mine on one cell and if it doesn't dim down or shut off early, you could really help Lips with his sale...

Some don't like the 27 heads, I just love them, they look great on a PD body and very special on a Cx2! :twothumbs

A couple of questions are the levels are accesed like a regular PD soft press for low hard press for high and how rare are the Cx2 packs?
